The Ephemeris

At some point in a trader's journey, he realizes he has no idea what is going on.

You pick a strategy, you refine it, you add rules, indicators, screens, Discord servers. You make a few successful trades and feel like big money. All the fantasies of hyper-compounded wealth on your terms com flooding in.

Then, you're wrong a couple times. You double down, change the rules, or give yourself a pep-talk about mindset and Zen Buddhism. And yet, more money goes down the toilet.

Lots of things are important in trading, but sometimes, the missing piece is a simple admission that you have absolutely no idea what kind of market you're actually in and what to do about it.

The Ephemeris is Arcana's weekly market newsletter that uses our in-house archetype model to get three things:

1. What market regime are we in?
2. What are the dangers and opportunities in this market?
3. Is this market stable or changing?

Rather than sitting around ideating what these archetypes might be, we've painstakingly constructed them from the most fundamental technical aspects of options markets and laid them out in a rich, conceptual, albeit idiosyncratic framework. We've also laid out second-order metrics to fine-tune how we apply the archetypes (or "arcana") to more specific market conditions, such as direction and liquidity.

An ephemeris is a table of the short-term orientation of celestial objects in the sky at a given time. Our Ephemeris won't claim to know the future, but it will tell you our best picture of the market sky and exactly what you might consider doing about it.
